Hello, friends!  It seems like it’s been forever since I’ve shared a blog post.  We have been so busy now that our store is finally open and we’re definitely not complaining about that!  But, I do miss chatting with all of you, so I thought it was time to check in with a blog post.

First of all, my mom, Courtnee, and I all want to say a big THANK YOU to everyone who has supported our women's clothing boutique over the past few weeks.  Whether you bought something cute to wear, supported us on social media, or even just browsed our site, we truly appreciate it. It has been very exciting to see our dream come to life and we will be forever grateful for all of your support!

For today’s blog post, I wanted to share one of my all time favorite treat recipes...white chocolate chex mix!  This has become a staple with my friends and family, who often refer to it as “crack” because it’s so addicting!  I first “created” (I’m using that word very loosely here) this recipe a few years ago when a student gave me a white chocolate mixed treat as a Christmas gift.  It was delicious, but included some foods that I can’t eat and/or don’t care for, but I picked around to the pieces I do eat and immediately decided I needed to find a similar recipe.  So, I searched all over the internet for white chocolate chex mix recipes, found a few, took out the things I disliked in each and added different ingredients that I do like. After trying out a few different versions and methods over the past few years, I’ve finally got it exactly how I like it!  This recipe is seriously perfect for every occasion. Your family Christmas party? Substitute with red and green m&ms. Your child’s Halloween party? Throw in some candy corn. You get the gist! The pictures here are from our Sip n’ Shop event last weekend and I used Easter m&ms since the holiday is soon approaching.  Here’s how I made it!

Prep/Cook Time: 15 minutes

5 cups of Golden Grahams cereal
5 cups of Frosted Cheerios cereal
5 cups of pretzels
1 ½ regular sized bags of m&ms
1 ½ bags of white chocolate chips
4 ½ Tablespoons of vegetable oil

  1. Line a large table with wax or parchment paper.
  2. In a large bowl, combine cereals, pretzels, and m&ms.  Set aside.
  3. Heat white chocolate chips and oil on the stove on medium heat until melted, stirring very often.
  4. Pour the melted ingredients over the dry ingredients and mix well.
  5. Spread the mixture over the wax/parchment paper and let cool.  Once it’s completely cooled, break it apart and store in an airtight container.

That’s it!  It’s literally the easiest treat recipe ever and only takes me 15 minutes (which is saying a lot because I am a very slow mover in the kitchen!)  I’m not exaggerating when I say every time I make these treats, I get multiple compliments. Easy, tasty, and perfect for all occasions, you can’t go wrong with that!  If you try this recipe I’d love to hear about it in the comments below!
