Hey friends!  I feel like it’s been forever since I’ve posted!  I planned to take a few days away from social media to spend time with family for the holidays.  Unfortunately, I have been sick since a few days before Christmas, so I was MIA for much longer than anticipated :(  Hopefully all of you are staying healthy and had a wonderful Christmas!

It’s hard to believe that we are only 4 days away from a brand new year!  I love the feeling of a new year.  It’s such a fresh start and a chance to be exactly who you want to be and do exactly what you want to do.  Granted, you can do start doing these things any day of the year, and you should!  But sometimes, setting the calendar back to day one can really help motivate a person.

I’ve never been a huge stickler for New Year’s resolutions.  They always sound great, but I’ve never been the best at sticking to them.  I do, however, always try to improve myself.  So, I usually try to set some general resolutions/goals for the year.  One of my goals this year is to get healthier.  I want to make smarter decisions for my body and my health including eating more veggies (most days I eat zero...I suck) and getting more exercise.  Another goal that I have is to do something that helps another person or makes another person happy every day.  This could be something as simple as carrying a bag for someone with their hands full or telling someone that I love their new haircut.  Sometimes even the smallest of compliments can turn someone’s day around and I think we could all be more helpful to others!  Courtnee and my mom share similar views about not making specific New Year’s resolutions, but trying to better themselves overall each year.  This upcoming year Court wants to focus on cooking more meals for her family at home and eating out less.

What about all of you?  Do you have specific New Year’s resolutions?  Do you not have them at all?  We’d love to hear in the comments below or on our social media accounts!  Also, I love this plaid shirt and couldn’t decide my favorite way to style it, so you’re going to see it again in my next blog post.  I’m curious to see which outfit/styling of it you all prefer!
