Aside from our introductory post, this is our first official blog post for Meg & Marie and we are so excited! I think we've probably said how excited we are in every social media post we've created so far and I'm sure you get the hint, but really, so excited!! This business is something that we've been working on for the last 7 months and we don't like to do anything halfway, so we have been pouring our hearts, souls, time, and energy into making everything as perfect as possible before we released it all. But now, the time has come to make the jump and start forming relationships with all of you wonderful ladies out there and I'll just say it one more time...we are SO excited!! :)
We have already received a few pieces of inventory and more is set to ship in a few weeks. Our online clothing boutique should be up and running at the beginning of 2018 with beautiful spring pieces...just in time for you to do some spring cleaning and make room for new clothing in your closets! Until then, we thought it would be fun to get our blog up and running to give you all a better idea of the types of styles we are hoping to bring to our boutique. Also, we just couldn't wait until spring to start talking fashion, we're ready to get started now!!
I love how classy and preppy this fall outfit is. It would be the perfect outfit for Thanksgiving, which makes me think of my grandma's chicken and noodles...and now I want chicken and noodles! ;) Anyway, back to the outfit...I actually bought this navy skirt to start and then of course a few days later I saw online that there was this amazing fall gold color, so I ended up exchanging it! Now I notice it's also available in a deep jade color and I wouldn't hate having that color too haha. I did buy the skirt in petite because I liked where it hit on my legs better in that size. I love this button-down shirt because it's so versatile. Paired with this skirt it screams fall, but I could easily pair it with a pair of pink shorts to transition it to spring. I loved how this navy sweater shell looked over the button down.
Clearly, I have a soft spot for J. Crew clothing and also Michael Kors accessories. Unfortunately, my lace up wedges are from last year, but I love this similar pair available now from Target! Who doesn't love Target!? My MK watch and bracelet are also no longer available, but they do have a similar watch available here in rose gold and the good news is it's on sale! The tote I'm carrying in these photos is a very special one to me because my thoughtful husband surprised me with it on my birthday last year with my new initials (a few months before our wedding)! It's also currently on sale for a great price!
Before wrapping up this post, I have to give a shout out to the AMAZING photographer who shot these pics! Have you heard of 23rd Avenue Photography? If not, you should go check her out right now! She is everything you'd want when hiring a photographer...she's friendly, makes you feel super comfortable, and can you say talented!? We were beyond lucky to have her shoot our first pictures for Meg & Marie and can't recommend her enough. Thinking of family pictures for the holidays? She's your girl! Here's a little behind the scenes action from our photo shoot to see this talented lady in action!
We will have more posts to come in the near future featuring more holiday outfits, but what else would you all like to read about? Makeup? Hair? Books? Recipes? Let us know and we will be sure to incorporate it into the blog!
